Risk Enabled Operations – Charity
Hope and Homes for Children, a charity that operated in Ukraine before the war, significantly expanded its workforce in response to the Russian invasion. However, they recognised that this expansion exposed their humanitarian aid workers to an unacceptable level of risk. To mitigate this risk to a tolerable level, Audere provided hostile environment awareness training to all staff and produced a security and safety user guide with detailed standard operating procedures. Additionally, their field teams were connected to the Audere Security Operations Centre in Kyiv, which provided a 24/7 emergency response facility, access to 15 regional quick reaction teams, journey management advice, personalised emergency location tracking, and access to a medical doctor.
